A Land Use Permit is required for ALL new construction, including decks, fences and sheds.
A Land use Permit is $20.00.
The Zoning Administrator is available Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. for Land Use Permits and she can answer any questions you may have.
Upon issuance of a Land Use Permit, a Building Permit can then be obtained at the Houghton Lake Building Agency.
The responsibilities of the Zoning Administrator is to enforce the Markey Township Zoning Ordinance #35, the Markey Township Anti-Blight and Nuisance Type Ordinance #36.
A Hardcopy of the Markey Township Zoning Ordinance #35 is available at the Township Hall for $35.00 or you can purchase a CD with the Ordinance in a Microsoft Word format for $5.00
