Markey Township Contract with Waste Management

Our contract allows each residence 6 bags of garbage each week. Bags must be curbside by 6 am to allow for Monday pick up. You may also have 5 bags and ONE large item EACH week; for instance a T.V. one week and a couch the next week. Also, 3 RIMLESS tires can count as one large item. Building materials are NOT allowed. Wood moldings can be bundled into 1’ x 3’ bundles not to exceed 50 pounds. Old carpeting must be rolled up into 3 foot lengths. Old paint cans must be empty WITHOUT lids. NO hazardous materials at anytime.

Refrigerators and any other appliances containing freon are a special pick up; usually the 4th Friday of the month. Call Waste Management 1-800-796-9696 to make arrangements.

All this service plus 3 leaf pick ups in the spring and 3 in the fall for an annual price of $50 per residence, $100 for resorts.

Markey Township recycles the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month behind the township hall. A list of recycling guidelines is available at the township hall.
