A Land Use Permit is required for ALL new construction, including decks, fences and sheds. A Land use Permit is $20.00. The Ordinance Administrator is available Wednesday thru Friday 9:00 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. for Land Use Permits and can answer any questions you may have. Upon issuance of a Land Use Permit, a Building Permit can then be obtained at the Houghton Lake Building Agency. The responsibilities of the Ordinance Administrator is to enforce the House Number Ordinance #33, Markey Township Zoning Ordinance #35, the Markey Township Anti-Blight and Nuisance Type Ordinance #36 and the Tall Grass and Weed Ordinance #44. A hardcopy of the Markey Township Zoning Ordinance #35 is available at the Township Hall for $35.00 or you can purchase a CD with the Ordinance in a Microsoft Word format for $5.00
